Some Random Pictures of The Monkey

Monkey and the Doctor

We went to the doctors office for a follow visit for an ear infection. All was well until, The SHOT. Even the prodding in her ears was not a problem.
I thought that we were going to be OK. She looked at the needle as if she was ready for her No Fear bumper sticker. Then there was the scream. I did the only thing I could do in that situation. Put 4 tounge depressers in my mouth and jump around. That did it. To quote Ozzy Osbourne, "No More Tears".
All was good until The Monkey found the mini hammer used to test your reflexes. She wanted to keep hitting me in the head with it. I did my part. Momma can take her next time. And she might have to because the Doc didn't like me touching his stuff.

More Singing With The Monkey

Well, I have taught myself some children’s song. Appropriate children’s songs. And now, we have a new dilemma, The Monkey likes to act out the only songs that I know. At bedtime, when we sing The Itsy Bitsy Spider, she will do the spider motions. She does this while laying down. Because if I am singing, we are thisclose to sleepy time.
I introduced a new song last night. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Maybe you have heard it. It has a good beat and I can dance to it. While I was on the 2nd line of the song, The Monkey jumps up and reaches her arms above her head and points to her palm. WTF??? Scared the crap out of me. I thought we were getting mugged.
I did the only logical thing that I could think of. I asked her to tell me the songs she didn’t know. Then I remembered that I am trying to communicate with somebody who has a vocabulary of 10-15 words.
So, tonight, I will try a new song. A made up song. A song that there is no way that she knows.

Singing to the Monkey At Bedtime

The Monkey has been giving us an interesting week. The other night I decided to start singing to her at night before she goes to bed. It turns out that I don't know any appropriate children’s songs. I grew up on NIN, Marilyn Manson, and GWAR. I think I could recite any of these albums. Especially the GWAR album with Sex Cow on it. I had a revelation the other night-the lyrics " I want to F*** You like an animal" and "Death Pod come from the sky" are not appropriate bedtime songs for children.

So I decided to try to sing some other songs. Turns out the only other music that I know most of the words to is some hard core gay ass adult contemporary. These songs are more appropriate for the little people-but not for adult men to sing. I even tried to struggle through the words to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Some children’s songs are not good for bedtime. An example of this would be any song that involves the child’s interaction. I started to sing Old MacDonald Had A Farm. Her reaction to this song was amazing to watch. When I started The Itsy Bitsy Spider, she flipped over onto her back and started to make the spider with her hands. I knew that I was going to have to outsmart her with my gay ass adult contemporary. I never thought that I could use the music that puts adults to sleep, to put the Monkey to sleep.

I would like to thank Tracy Chapman and Tina Turner for helping put the Monkey to sleep. If it wasn’t for Tracy’s Fast Car and Tina’s Private Dancer. We could have been in for a long night. My next adventure will be into voice lessons. Since I am not a singer and I don’t want The Monkey thinking that I am one of the Walmart carolers.

Hop On Pop

The Monkey's new favorite bedtime book is Hop On Pop. I can tell this is her favorite because she doesn't try to flip ahead to the next page before I am done reading the first sentence. Like she does on Pepper Kitty. And we enjoy seeing her scream when a character named "Pat" goes to sit on his cat. Funny thing is that he tries to sit on the cat almost every night, and every night she screams some babytalk-ese of "DON"TSITONTHECATPAT!!!!!!" She also like me to read her the book as she sits on my belly. Which, to me is a strange coincidence.

Hopefully she won't have the same reaction to Green Eggs and Ham

Full Moon

How can I tell???
The Office Crazy Talk increases to a comedic level of entertainment. Why can't there be sick days for people that knwo they say idiotic things when there is a full moon.

My Precious:CrackaBerry

I have developed a new relationship with My Berry. I am using it a lot more than before. Because aver since TextAmerica deleted my account for having too many pictures on their free account, I don't use my cam phone as much. This thing has Google Maps. And is a lot easier to type on when driving. I just wish it took pictures. Maybe for the next one.

The Hairless Monkeys At Work are Getting Squeemish-Is It A Full Moon

The Hairless Monkeys are acting strange today. There must be a full moon. They are acting more paranoid than usual. And have sucked the non-paranoid people into the black hole with them. Usually they are tolerable, but when they act as a group they are too much too handle.
Today's conspiracy theory is how "they" track our information on the return addresses that we hand write on envelopes. The person sucked into this drama stated that they use preprinted label. This led to the possibility of "them", I assume this is the previously mentioned "they", tracking you by fingerprint.

Other than that, today is going to be a good day. Enve though it is raining here in town.

Were do these people get this information to entertain the crazy talk.

the hat in question

As worn by John Malkovich

I have re-introduced The Thompson Twins into my Musical Playlist

Have you ever re-introduced a band into your digital playlist? We all have a top10 or top 15 that we keep in a heavy rotation. But, have you ever been looking for something, and out of the blue found something else. I accidentally found Willie Nelson singing "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" Yes, itis relatively disturbing. Then again it does keep co-workers away.

The other day, I found The Thompson Twins. You remember that band from the 80's. Oh no they are long broken up. The song that I have fallen in love with is King For One Day. It moved me. It moved me to look them up on the net. They actually have a Wikipedia page. I was even moved to read the entire thing.

Now if I could just find Cameo on Wikipedia.

Am I A Metro-Sexual for buying a Fruffy Hat

I want to buy a hat. Over the last 2 years I have become a baseball hat whore. I never was into has growing up. Not my thing. And, of all my hats I have only bought 1. The rest were promo hats from various clients. None of them are cheesy. They are all high quality. My favorite has to be the hat I got from the suite at the 2006 Indianapolis 500 Carb Day. It's from a corporate jet company.
Well, anyways, I want to get this hat that I saw on the John Malkovich clothing site. It is rather ...well Fruffy. But, if it is cool enough for the guy who stared in Being John Malkovich- it is cool enough for me!!

music night on the 3rd shift

I've playing easy listening music all night. Right now, my co worker is in another room. when he comes back~ I will start playing hard core German techno. I wonder how many hours he will put up with it before saying anything.

Another mighty night shift

Working Third Shift this week

I can actually say that working the third shift has been a great experience. Usually we would work one overnight shift on our on-call rotation, every 5 weeks. But this week, we have a guy that needs to be here. So I am stuck babysitting him.
I like this because I am able to get home in time to see The Monkey and SmKahuna head off for the day. I can also pick The Monkey up at daycare.
SmKahuna and I put The Monkey down and then I head to work shortly thereafter. So I am getting home as they are preparing to leave to daycare. Yesterday there was some extra time. So I got to blow through Hop On Pop and part of Green Eggs and Ham. I think the The Monkey is starting to get Green Eggs and Ham. At least I've started to get it. Tonight at dinner, SmKahuna and I were having steak. I actually cut off a little bite size piece and said “Don’t you like a piece of meat? Try it, try it and you may I say!” It didn’t work. She just looked at me like I was speaking French, while shaking her head back and forth.
I am starting to think that The Monkey just pretends that she doesn’t understand English. The same way I do when she is communicating to me and I pretend that I understand everything that she is telling me.

BTW-Is it bad for a 14 month old baby girl to have a favorite song? One that uses the phrase “ Shake that booty for me”? I didn’t think so either.

Happiness

How is it we know what we should be doing in life to make us happy. And are able to tell other people to change what they are doing if they are not happy. But, just can't seem to get off our asses to make ourselves happy?

Always make sure you have your electronic key. Because no matter how much your boss likes you, he probably doesn't want a 3 am call to have to come let you back into your office.

The Monkey (aka Baby Kahuna )

The Monkey is feeling better after having some type of cough that knocked her on her butt for the last week. I got to spend the day with her. I had a feeling she was feeling better when she started laughing during the wrong part of Finding Nemo. You know the part where a shark named Bruce appears. She couldn't stop laughing. And the part where Nemo is taken by the divers. LHAO. I don't know where she got that trait from, but she is feeling much better.

I also knew she was feeling better when we went out to the store for milk and stopped at the McD's in the store for an ice cream cone-and she went Hog Wild.

I just posted a video of the Monkey dancing to my cellphone ringtone.

Has NASCAR gone Queer?

As I watched my NASCAR race on tv today, I have come to believe that it has gone gay. Not by anything that happened during the race, but by the commercials. In my Homo's of NASCAR Top 5, is the Reece driver.

He had a commercial of him walking done the street enjoying a Reece Peanut Butter cup. This alone would not get him into the Hall Of Fame. But, this combined with him walking into an INDY car driver that happened to be walking done the srteet with an open pint of carmel, is not one to get into the Hall Of Fame. It was when they walked into each other and the Reece driver got his peanut butter cup into the other man's carmel.

Where I grew up a grown man would not be walking, willy nilly, done the street with an open jar of carmel. That would get him beat up real fast. Also, if the man who got his peanut buttercup dipped in the carmel of another man did not kisk ass. Then any other man/woman/child would have every right to do so.

I did not grow up in a tough area. I actually grew up in a city, but thisclose to the burbs.

There was another commercial for Wrangler Jeans. There were a bunch of men that looked like they were camping. This was cool until they had a man jump off a rock. I coulnd't figure that part out. Why would a man do that with a bunch of other men.

I am not homophobic, but I thought it was interesting to see this behavior in NASCAR.

Here is a picture f me and the Monkey

Here was another sign that the Monkey was feeling better. We got a picture and she is smiling... Well a little bit.... But it is a smile.

Home Again

I am so happy to be home from my training. Home again to see the Monkey and the Monkey's Mama. Unfortunately, the monkey was under the weather and the Monkey's Mama was stressed out from spending the week with a sick baby. Boy, I guess they were happy to see me.

But the Monkey is doing a lot better today. She hugged me in our special way. By touching thetop of our heads. This may not have been much, but it was a step in the right direction. She also enjoyed an frozen icee.

Also, latest band from the 80's to sell out-Big Country for a Kohl's ad.

My blogging spot while in Chicago

Here is a picture of where I am blogging from while in the Chicago area. I
am in Naperville and the tollroad in the background is 88. The weather here
is beautiful.

Concert and Other Ramblings

I went to the Nitzer Ebb concert last night at the House of Blues in Chicago. WOW What a fun time. I couldn't believe how many older people, like me, were there. I went with some friends from from the neighborhood. I don't know what came over me.... but I had to go down to the mosh pit. And just stand on the fringe of the pit. It was awesome. It was good practice for the GWAR show that will be at the end of October.
One of the strangest thing I saw had to be the leather cargo pants one of the band members was wearing. The band consisted of the lead singer, two drummers, and 2 Apple Mac's laptops. I thought that it was interesting to see these guys plug a beat into the computers- then go at it. Pretty Cool. I had to ask my friend one question- Other than talent, musical know-how, and leather pants- What is holding us back from doing this?

I am in Naperville for training for Work. It is cool to be "home" again, but the Monkey and The Mokey's Mama are back in Indy. The Monkey is recovering from a fever or virus. The doctor's are not sure. All they know is that she is recovering from whatever she had. I got a text message today telling me that she slept for 15 hours. I can't wait to get home to see them both.
I am waiting for some of my classmates to come over to head into downtown Naperville. I am in class with several people from different companies. One thing is true, telecom attracts a strange personality type.

More later,

BgKahuna
